Truman's Fall Graduate Student Recruitment Day was held Saturday, November 11 in Barnett Hall from 10:00 – 2:00. Activities included tours of the clinic and teaching facilities, technology demonstrations, meet and greet the faculty, and short group sessions on the following topics: Funding graduate study at Truman, the CMDS graduate curriculum, internship and employment opportunities in speech-language pathology, and meeting current students and alumni. After the group sessions, and light lunch was served in the Barnett Hall atrium.
Participants included prospective graduate students from Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, as well as those exploring the possibility of transitioning into communication disorders from non-CMDS majors such as biology and linguistics. Highpoints mentioned by participants included the helpful information about budget planning for graduate school, the outstanding clinical facilities and materials collection at Truman, and clarification of the Truman graduate internship process.
